A jukebox may be an excellent addition to a party. Not only may patrons decide what music they would like to hear, but it may also be a handy money earner. If it is an old-style jukebox, and the party theme is ‘50s or ‘60s, it could add to a very authentic atmosphere and transport enthralled partygoers right back to the past. The nostalgic dimension should not be underestimated – people who grew up with jukeboxes remember them well. There are many jukebox hire options. The classic jukebox is still a large, stand-up machine, but its innards may be thoroughly modern. However, they are designed to evoke the feel of the originals of fifty years ago. They are usually equipped with powerful speakers and their lighting effects may be tweaked to taste. The interface is usually a track ball or touch screen and it may include a coin acceptor for commercial use; it may even have an iPod connector. Smaller, wall-mounted models are available for hire and these look very similar to the standard classic models. However, they sometimes do not include speakers for commercial use; for private use and for hiring, speakers are included. Modern jukeboxes are often little more than a branded computer fitted with speakers. The tall structure is required to house the speakers, but the music is played off a hard disk drive and there is a large touch screen interface. Many jukeboxes can connect to the Internet and music that is not cached on the disk can be downloaded from the Internet and played. Jukeboxes may be branded to the client’s requirement. Branding may include corporate colours, the company logo or specific graphics. Jukebox hire is a popular way to add a nostalgic touch to any event, whether it is one of the modern, functional ones or one of the classic models that recall the memories of the great Wurlitzers of the 1940s. |
