Slush Puppie is a registered trademark and it is spelt with an “-ie” intentionally to attract more interest to the product. A Slush Puppie is a slush drink made from a base and some flavouring. The base consists of a special type of syrup that is blended with water before it is frozen. The resultant mix is made up of small ice pellets in a flavoured liquid. Slush Puppies are mostly found at public outlets like cinemas and are made in special Slush Puppie machines. Many variations of Slush Puppie machines are available. They differ in capacity and may have an auto-fill feature to simplify operation. The local Slush Puppie distributor will install the machine and comprehensive contracts are offered that take care of the machine’s maintenance requirements. The 9-flavour Slush Puppie machine with 38-litre slush freezer remains one of the most popular models. Its output is 15 litres per hour and it requires no water lines or drain lines. A slightly less expensive model with only six flavours is available too. The cup dispensers are usually sold separately. Most cinemas favour the Two Bowl Cab Slush Puppie machine, which is ideal for settings with high traffic. Its presentation is very colourful and the two bowls can hold 9.5 litres each. This model is also more affordable than the 6-flavour and 9-flavour models. There are even single flavour Slush Puppie machines available; these are the most affordable models and may often be bought for home use. Several manufacturers make Slush Puppie Machines, such as Cab, Elmico, Ugolini and Bunn. Additional point-of-sale items may be bought for Slush Puppie machines. These include colourful, graphical attention-grabbers such as the revolving Slush Puppie cup, an illuminated cup, posters or the Slush Puppie “puppy” atop the machine. Several stickers and posters attach statically without adhesive and may advertise certain flavours. |
