There are so many theme décor ideas for parties, weddings, anniversaries and public or private functions that one often hardly knows where to start. However, some function, décor and hire specialists may be able to suggest excellent ideas, and they have the expertise and connections to supply all the props and décor you may need.

You may have an elaborate idea for the tables at a wedding reception. A large candle stand with candles and satin throws in the middle of each table is a perfect example to spice up a setting with imaginative décor. Or a very large, round candle atop a small glass fountain, draped with flowers and leaves.

A children’s party or nature-themed gathering may call for stuffed animal displays, flowers and flowing bead curtains. The appropriate lighting can create the perfect wilderness atmosphere.

A medieval theme may be complimented by an entrance sided by fabricated castle towers and the décor might include black seat covers, tablecloths, a lot of chandeliers and medieval symbols and designs on the walls.

A nautical atmosphere may be created by carefully planned maritime décor such as boardwalks, wooden bridges, ship ropes and life rings strewn about the venue. It may cost a little more labour and money, but your party would certainly leave a lasting impression.

Theme décor may also be required to create a theme of a specific country, ancient civilisation or culture. Examples are an African theme, or Arabian, Mexican, Greek, Hawaiian, Egyptian or Treasure Island.

The correct theme décor may recreate an authentic casino, Bushveld, tropical or science fiction feel. Alternatively, the theme may focus on a certain period, such as the ‘80s, ‘70s or even the ‘20s or ‘40s. Alpine or snow themes may be unusual but effective, and so would a circus or musical theme. There is no limit to the fantasy worlds that can be recreated with the appropriate theme décor.
